It was definitely just better handling of all of those processes - FF was very susceptible to extensions hogging performance before the recent changes and other issues. Now all of these browsers are a lot more similar than they used to be and Firefox in particular is back in the game because of it.

I give public facing presentations as part of my job so not exactly a speech like this but all of this applied. Good tips all around. I think especially important is this line about memorization:

This is perfectly fine!

Wow, it’s almost like it’s a US-based blog! You’re probably the type that complains about certain Google services not being available globally, too.

“Dying”? The season aired already and had good enough numbers to warrant a second season. Also, have you even read the book or seen the show?

most people aren’t aware of

So you didn’t read the article nor are you aware that there’s multiple compressed audio formats. The mind boggles.

Not everything sounds as terrible as MP3s. To assume all formats are the same just shows you’re not very informed on this subject.

Somehow hasn’t heard a decent bitrate Opus file. I wouldn’t use 64 personally but they could have gone somewhere in between, perhaps 96, and it would have sounded better than the 128Kbps MP3. Also, Spotify offers 320 OGG (the older form of Opus) for paid consumers. Good luck distinguishing that from a CD.

Naw, this is a security flaw if you look at the white papers and see what’s actually happening, IME is the backdoor.

Definitely reduce the water. I just finished my last pound of basmati and I thought I added too much water and low and behold it was stickier than all of my other batches. Also, are you venting, or leaving it closed?

I think it’s funny that you’re using a “people who live on the internet don’t get this” argument when you’re clearly not aware of how average joe uses a computer. You could really use some perspective.

I feel like I heard about this but didn’t know anyone that used it. Now that it’s integrated I added some stuff to my watchlist right away. Not sure if Amazon still makes money off this but this is one of those things that will keep me renewed so they’re winning there.

I said support, not forums, you can actually get in touch with a human being about this. Who also would be better at answering this question than people in the Lifehacker comment section. Though, you do have two people just telling you to manually install this so maybe that’s working out.

If something that can improve productivity exists (without having to rethink anything) then I would argue that it’s broken. Why would you post on Lifehacker but be afraid of improvement?

This seems to be splitting hairs for no useful reason. The use case is the same.

Support hasn’t given you a way to kill that so you can update?

Found the transplant. You’re welcome to go to back to California.

Yep. People should not bother driving in Seattle at all unless they really have to.
