Still my all-time favorite Trek. I think it managed to stick the landing nearly perfectly. I’m curious to see how Sisko’s time (or lack thereof) with the prophets changed him, as well as how his return would affect his friends and family. What would the characters’ new normal look like?
I thought it ended just fine. I mean, your lead character becomes a literal god, for instance.

I really, really don’t like Rob’s idea. I think it’d be a horrible disservice to the story and character. Unless that was their plan all along and the narrative builds towards a fitting end...but seeing as we don’t know all that much, beyond Leia having a major role in Episode VIII, I’d also cast my vote for…
... did they miss the original Star Wars? A guy cut someone’s arm off with a laser sword in a bar fight. The sequel had the hero’s hand chopped off, also with a laser sword, after he escaped from a yeti by... wait for it... chopping off an arm with a laser sword.
Kids probably wouldn’t take too kindly to seeing the dismembered digits of some creepy alien flopping through the air while blood spurts out of his gaping armhole.
