Oof. We will agree to disagree on this one, haha. There are call-outs, and there is “Here is every reskinned plot beat from ANH, with a free Cantina scene and new Death Star!”

Old Celebrities? I guess everyone’s definition of old is different.
And much of your country is happy for it. And there’s an entire planet outside the US, as hard as that may be for you guys to remember.
You know things are bad when even George R R Martin says there are too many people dying.
Comic branch =/= film branch. Given Marvel Film’s track record, I’d say they’d be going to pretty good hands.
Redmayne is a decent enough actor, but after watching him hyperventilate his way through Jupiter Ascending I want him to stay the hell away from Star Wars.
He’s not wrong. The people who are willing to look past Trump bragging about committing sexual assault because he promised them that The Steel Mill Will Reopen! weren’t going to be dissuaded by him saying “n****r”—in part because so many of them use the word themselves.
There was actually a way for them to be alive, after this, the alliance could create a shadow/blackops group to sabotage the empire in other fronts, then you have the opportunity to make more films with them, for example, they could have been the ones discovering the location of the new “not-finished” Death Star,…
Powerful, yes. Unexpected, not so much.
About the same, I think? It would either be “Hey, that’s a CGI Tarkin!” or “Hey, that’s a new Tarkin!” After the initial reaction, I’d be fine.
I would’ve loved to have seen that. That said, what they did ultimately isn’t bugging me that badly. Some, but not too badly.
It’s ethical if the actor or their estate is compensated.
But both Tarkin and Leia were jarring to me. I saw the film in 2D, with digital projection.
Tarkin would have been fine if he was only in one or two scenes, but they kept going back to him. And his mouth just...wasn’t working for me. The rest of his face was perfect, but his mouth just look weird.
Leia’s appearance in the film was far more egregious because we’d seen older Carrie Fisher in a film fairly recently. It felt unnecessary to me by virtue of being so obviously fake.
I was kind of confused by Tarkin. I knew they did some Fred- Astair-vacuum-cleaner stuff with Peter Cushing, but I was surprised how much he was in the movie. It seemed a touch, unnecessary? to have him in it so much. What’s-his-face with the white cloak was the villain, and a couple interactions with Tarkin would…
How could the ending be darker? Seriously, I want to know.
Frankly a Star Wars movie every Christmas is the best present Disney can give us.
There *might* be a time in the future when no one is excited for a Star Wars film and they lose money. But considering Marvel is in on movie 49896 and they’re still going strong I think Star Wars is safe. I can only concede to this hypothetical future where they stop being profitable but I honestly have no idea when…
Okay, so, in other words, Rogue One won the gold medal, but these wackos are saying it failed because it didn’t win a platinum medal?
I’d ask what the fuck is wrong with these people, but I’m not convinced I want an answer.
