I still think TR-8R should’ve been Phasma it just makes too much sense.

yesterday, not so much...but today? i accept these terms.
That’s one of the great things Black Mirror pulls off, this episode in particular, as well as the last one with the bees, feel more like short films more than television.
Just a short correction: Yorkie wasn’t put into a wheelchair, she was put into a coma. (This is foreshadowed early on when she, during her musical montage, she listens to “Girlfriend in a Coma.”) And Kelly wasn’t in the closest, she was simply bisexual and had been married for fifty years.
Hopefully pop culture will take a note from this and give us more optimistic stories and happy endings. Enough of this grimdark bullshit; we’re living it already.
everything about the episode perfectly captured the late 80's setting. even the film-making.
I introduced a couple of friends to the series just around the time season three landed, and they both mainlined Black Mirror hard. I had to explain to them that episodes usually end on on complicated notes — not necessarily unhappy endings, but rarely the traditional happy ones.
As cliche at the music at the end was, after watching the entire ep, it doesnt just tug at the heartstrings, it straight up rips them out. I couldnt help but tear up. This is probably my fav episode of this season... well if you dont count “shut up and dance”
I had heard some buzz around this episode, and assumed that meant it would terrifying like so many before it. My wife and I watched it last night and were pleasantly surprised to see another episode (like the first) that ends on a lighter note! It’s nice to show that humanity can still shine through crazy/scary…
Not only was it the best episode of Black Mirror...it was quite possibly one of the best self-contained episode ever. Good hook, great characters, hope for the future etc...The love story was of course great.
This was probably one of my favorite Black Mirror episodes! And after such a dire season it was nice to land on a relatively happy note!
Fuck. My heart is broken for my country. I agree that it’s time for the West Coast to gtfo of this mess. The California Republic must rise again.
Now is a good time for us on the West Coast to secede. I think we’re done with all that “United States” bullshit. Because tonight absolutely proved it’s bullshit. Unequivocally.
Shaka, when the walls fell.
At least the Marvel films recognise the destruction in some way. In The Avengers films they make every effort in the final battles to save as many lives as they can, and the whole plot of Civil War is recognising the fall out from it.
I still don’t understand how you can have the 2 most iconic and famous characters ever created in a movie together and screw it up so badly.
I wouldn’t call it countless, the death toll is gone over in civil war, you can see it on each screen of each disaster. If you actually look at those numbers the Avengers are doing a pretty good job of keeping casualties low during near world endinf events.
Wow, so, you’re the one who didn’t like Winter Soldier.
I’ve said it before, but I get the sense that WB is still hobbled by the same viewpoint as Fox, and to a lesser degree, Sony, had going back to the late 90s: They are not proud of the source material and willing to let it be the thing that makes it great.
It’s hard for them because...
