Cars are far from equal in spec racing... There are guys who spends an insane amount of money on the cars, blueprinting the engines etc. who can pull out 10 - 20% more HP and still have a legal car. The separation of Ferrari from Fiat/Chrysler is really greatly exaggerated... the majority of the shares will still be with the Agnelli family, so I doubt that a sale to VW group is probable. It is also unlikely that VW is interested with their vested interest in Lamborghini.
