I doubt it’s the compression system, as on PS5 it’s hardware based and the Jaguar on the PS4 would scream bloody murder.

I signed up for a free Stadia trial and just finished playing the demo.

I just happen to have about 6 alts that were sitting and waiting for this patch. This past weekend I went and started a different story line for each of them. And the best part is that I no longer have that paralysis of, “I better level my higher level toons even when I don’t want to because I don’t want 5 guys stuck

Genuinely surprised by the MoP hate. I had so much fun with that expansion.

Yes, I have a problem with the PS4 UI. Sorry to say, but it’s freaking awful. If you don’t see anything wrong with it, it’s probably because you’ve been normalized to it after years of use. For current gen UIs, Xbox is hands down better than PS4. This seems to be a drastic improvement over what we have now.

  • A new field of view slider will be added to the next-gen version.

The PS4 UI was clunky, mostly designed with the assumption that assets would load right away, even though most of the time they didn’t. Also, the little idle banner that would slide in from the bottom of the screen and obstruct items has pissed me off since day one.

Looks like a lot of good ideas borrowed from the XBox One UI mixed with some PS4 UI elements.  I hope they do better with loading game pages and make it so you don’t have to go 3 screens deep to get to the video apps.

things I like:
activities seem great
in-game menu is very xbox which is a step in the right direction IMO.

things that I don’t:
The long row seems like a pain, I know it’s been around since the PS3 days but it’s not efficient.
no mention of UI customization, one of the best things on xbox is being able to shift around the

The XMB sounds simple on paper and is when your game library is small. It gets clunky fast and takes too long to scroll to things you want. I’m ready for streamlining after 7 years on the PS4.

The great enemy of design is that people like what they’re familiar with, resent having to adapt to a new thing and underrate the idea that the new thing will grow on them. See: every new logo launch ever.

I have to agree about Damage Control.  Seems crazy to me that anyone could think a single hit is TERRIBLE, but 15% more HP is essentially nothing.  For most of the weapons, and particularly against any of the beefier enemies, a single hit isn't going to do 15% damage to a target, meaning Damage Control would for sure

I heartily agree that Death Defiance rules in boss fights. I tried the other once and was very disappointed.

I mean, I played it on Game Pass a few weeks back and it seemed just like Fallout 3 and every Elder Scrolls game I’ve played (AKA not good!) so if that’s the bar we’re looking for then sure, it’s probably reached that.

You have no idea what you are talking about and what DLSS actually is...

I love PS exclusives, as they are exactly the games I like to play, Big, Flashy, full of amazing stories and great blow-your-mind setpieces, and nothing comes close to Uncharted or TLOU 2 for me.

That said, will be getting series X before PS5, only because I know that the huge library of Xbox games I have + gamepass, I

Sony is mum on this because they didn’t think of doing this. Microsoft has made this cross platform play anywhere approach their central tenet for the xbox series x|s. People obviously have responded well to it, and Sony is caught on their back foot and is scrambling to put something similar in place as quick as they

It seems like both of these companies excel when there’s strong competition between them.

Im tired of Nintendo being opposite of Sony, Microsoft, and PC.

Agreed on Damage control. It’s the first heat modifier I used and didn’t matter much, especially when using something like the Zeus boon that spread small damage to nearby enemies.
