I definitely left resources behind along the way, but I didn’t consider that like... a design flaw. Having to make tough choices about what you can afford to take along and whats gonna have the most value later feels, to me, like it’s pretty core to the whole notion of being survival horror.

I mean I think we both agree your plight is kind of self-inflicted, but I also agree that even a self-inflicted problem that doesn’t need to be there at all... may as well just be fixed! I don’t think the storage box needs to be there at all, but by that same token, if it’s gonna be there you may as well make it

Not well!

...how? I genuinely don’t understand. My playthrough wasn’t quite “completionist” but even with 6 coffee mugs and an assortment of other charms in there it made no discernible dent in my available shoebox space. My thought while playing the game was, I’m not entirely sure what purpose this ancillary storage is even

Depends on what you loved about Control. There’s still the creepy deep lore stuff but its significantly less varied than all the case files lying around the Bureau. More depth than breadth. The combat isn’t as off the wall (literally) as Control but it is on the better end of survival horror combat systems.

It’s starting to feel like live service game monetization is becoming something of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Trying to build a game around a live service design ends up taking so much more time and development resources that they literally need the live service tail to even turn a profit. But they could’ve released

You can store the coffee mug charms in the shoebox at any rest point.

I think ‘whale economics’ are coming for huge swathes of MTX. Publishers are realizing that there are people who for whatever reason really wanna buy shit, and those people have incredibly low price sensitivity.

If there’s someone who is gonna buy the skin whether it’s 5 or 10 or 20 dollars... may as well make it 20.

HALO 5 WAS GOOD DAMNIT!

(the multiplayer, the campaign was a mess)

Kinda just Blizzard again now, or Microsoft-Blizzard if you like, if the reports are to be believed.

Sigh. Alright. Let me break it down for you real simple like. To display assets on screen, you first must load them into memory. The higher quality the asset, the larger it will be. The larger it is, the more space it takes up, and the longer it takes to load it. Compressing these assets can save space, but it also

Cool. That’s your opinion. What they said was absolutely irrelevant, because again, we’re primarily talking about low fidelity games that use frequent traditional loading screens and are not expected to perform well at very high framerates. None of these things are the design space being discussed, so it’s a

Please learn reading comprehension, I beg you.

You don’t, clearly.

Just want everyone to know every response to this has been completely deranged and I regret saying anything exactly as much as I thought I would! :)

I really don’t wanna rehash ME3 ending shit this much later, but skipping over the literal genocide induced by the Destroy ending as one of the “downsides” is so wild lol

I genuinely don’t understand what any of you people are trying to accomplish with this shit. Are you actually all just insufferable, or... what’s going on here. “Its ridiculous to say monopolies arent inherently bad. If they were made of unicorns and rainbows, theyd be awesome, have you considered that?” Sick dude,

You don’t understand very much about how games work, do ya champ?

I appreciate you’re at least attempting to make a good faith case here, but I’m honestly not sure how you could read that back and not conclude that you’re just carrying water for an obvious de facto monopoly. Like, I just don’t see anywhere we can make ground on this given... your stance. But again, I appreciate the

See my other response. Also, re: your posts elsewhere about how actually monopolies arent inherently bad, I hope to god you’re a teenager. Because the options are teenager or bootlicker who has swallowed so much polish they’ve lost all their remaining brain cells, and for everyone’s sake I have to hope its the former.
