Well I think the image maker and the people using it are certainly in alignment, but what it demonstrates does not support their argument at all.

What it actually shows is that Steam is such an entrenched monopoly that rather than having genuine competition, what it has is an entire ecosystem of leeches that

Legitimately embarrassing that people don’t realize how much that image makes the opposite of the point y’all seem to think it does.

These “most Japanese games” you’re talking about target 30 FPS with load screens and 720p-quality textures. Which, it’s totally okay to enjoy, obviously. But trying to have a seamless high framerate high quality experience... just requires more size. You need higher quality assets, and you can’t afford to compress

Not much at all. Honestly, Control and the AWE DLC are more germane than the original. The original is highly relevant, obviously, but they go over the background there a lot more explicitly in game than they do the Control half. Ultimately you don’t need anything but AW2 to have a good time as long as you’re okay

100% endorse. Remedy doesn’t feel like they should exist, and the fact that they do and keep getting to make weirder and braver stuff makes me endlessly happy.

I’m assuming the “HQ” being 50GB is a result of it also hosting all the assets that are shared by all of the available modes (EG, gun models) but having a 50GB install before you can even be able to install any of the shit you can actually play is still not a great look.

People are conflating who is deciding who is getting fired with who is deciding how much money Bungie is allowed to keep spending. Bungie did the former, which is what “Bungie decided these layoffs, not Sony” means, but Sony still very much decided the latter.

That bullet point was incredibly misleading, and Tassi clarified it shortly thereafter. What he meant was this wasn’t a redundant positions thing. This wasn’t Sony consolidating publisher roles it already fills, Sony had no say in who was fired.

They absolutely had a say in saying “you’re spending too much money and

For better and worse, MS has thus far mostly left their large acquisitions to their own devices. Given Zenimax was/is a terribly run company, that seems like a pretty major failure on their part. ActiBlizz is waaaaaay too early to say. That’d be like judging Sony’s acquisition of Bungie a year ago. Who could know.

I’m PC only at this point, but I do have almost the exact same split for which controller I use. I use an Elite Series 2 for pretty much all multiplayer games, and I use the Scuf Dualsense for all singleplayer games (that support it anyways, Dualsense support on PC is still a bit spotty).

Part of it is just habit from

I can’t tell if you’re actually talking about Strikers or if you’re confused and mean Royal.

I felt this way a little bit in Strikers, especially as an Akechi lover (don’t come at me) but a little bit in I was more than on board for the ride. It’s possible Tactica doesn’t pull of that same trick, but I have no real reason to believe that would suddenly be the case now.

Banishers got moved to February 2024.

Sure, but they’re among the only developers where even the aggrieved parties agreed that the company was actively taking strides to improve those things. The only thing I can recall that came after their remediation efforts was one power-tripping HR manager who did not get dealt with swiftly enough and caused some

Lightfall was the best performing expansion. This has nothing to do with how Destiny is performing, it’s the exact same corporate consolidation slash and burn as everything else.

I’ll go on to say, there is one thing that was genuinely shitty from them during the Destiny era, and that was when they had paid exclusivity deals with... Sony. Charging the same for the same content everywhere but keeping a chunk of that content from Xbox players for a year on a repeating basis was incredibly

You not liking decisions they make about the game or their monetization models is not at all the same as them making slash and burn decisions about the people at their company. Grind your ax somewhere else, loser.

Bungie was. Sony isn’t, and they’re pulling the strings now.

I think somewhat quietly Zenimax is and has been one of the worst mismanaged companies in the business. I honestly think almost anyone with authority at Zeni and BGS need to go, because there are a lot of talented people there and at their other studios, but they consistently get shafted by the dullards running the

My artist choice is not to vomit when I turn the camera. If you wanna choreograph your cutscenes at a particular framerate where you can Hollywood your shots to accommodate the low framerate, go for it, but in open gameplay with a 3D camera that’s dogshit.
