Youve never played a Quantic Dream game before, huh?

Yeah I don’t really know the term for those fellas. My Destiny brain wants to call them “Ultras”, but idk if there’s a soulsborne equivalent. Suffice to say, you’ll know when you’ve reached another boss-boss. It’s not subtle.
I don’t really have a problem with it, but saying playing photocopy self-inserts is the way an RPG is ‘meant to be played’ is one of the sadder things I’ve heard recently.
That claim is still correct! What in the fuck! Alright man, we needed to be done here so long ago. God bless.
It’s satisfying to fight him again once you have the recovery dodge, because he knocks you down and then its just like bitch you thought and you can whoop him lol
Really, man. I’m a professional software engineer and I have a 4 year degree in game development, with a concentration in game engine design. Of all the people to tell that they don’t know what they’re talking about, it’s not me bud. They are absolutely instanced. Your Abandoned Who-Gives-A-Fuck Facility whose…
I mean, to be more specific, every major city and any heavily forested area like on parts of Akila will chug at native 4K on a 4090. But even outside of those, you’re often in the 60-70 range, which is pretty rough for a 4090 given the visual quality.
Impossible for me to disagree with this one. I immediately grabbed the shortcut door next to him and fought him in the wider space from that direction after he wiped the floor with me the first time (which I think is what they intended?) but there’s no getting around that this dude is an absolute troll.
The overheat…
If it helps, it’s not long before you’ll have more ammo than you could ever use. You just need to carry 9 different weapons with you to use it all, because they decided to have a dozen different types of ballistic ammo for some ungodly reason. Not sure why ‘pistol caliber’, ‘rifle caliber’, ‘fuck you anti-materiel .50…
He’s not a boss. That’s a miniboss. Bosses have fog walls.
I mean the game has exactly 0 flaws in its technical presentation, so. It’s not really of any note. I’m 20+ hours in and have yet to drop so much as a single frame. Generally the gripe with Denuvo is it causes hard to track down performance issues if its not integrated properly. This game has absolutely no performance…
As you note, every item gets a new indicator, and every category at the top will also have a new indicator if theres a new item in that category. Idk if its really on the game if you’re never checking your inventory and then wonder why you don’t know what anything is when you finally open it.
As to the all the weird…
Fair points.
No you fucking dolt. I’m saying in Starfield, if more than one thing is happening in a contiguous playable area they instance it. Context, Jesus Christ.
None of this has been remotely inconsistent except to your peanut brain. If there is more than 1 tiny thing happening in a contiguous playable area, it is instanced. Not a fucking hard concept to understand, but keep dick riding man, I’m done with you.
I’m not annoyed, but as you can see I’m far from the only one to find it a little distracting. I’ve never seen any other reviewers so consistently feature close-ups of their self-insert player avatar for almost every screenshot. You see very little else about the game besides this dudes virtual mug.
I’m glad to hear a few more of the gears clicked into place for you from your initial impressions. I still think some of your gripes are places where the intent hasn’t quite gelled for you yet, but I also think that’s a perfectly valid thing to highlight in a review, because no doubt you won’t be the only one…
It wasn’t really my thought, but I’ve seen other people say it on multiple other articles, because he literally covers them in shots of his Tate-looking avatars, and this one in particular, that note resonated.
EDIT: I feel like it’s also worth noting that he is self-evidently obsessed with showing this dude off. The…
It really is a brilliant system, and incredibly well-executed. The drip feed of additional options you get as the game progresses makes the possibility space explode but because it starts so gradually it never feels overwhelming or cluttered.
The only ‘issue’ I have with it at this point is I feel like I’m cheating on…
I’m guessing you’re just a bald white guy with a beard and play a self-insert in every game you play, and that you neither look like nor have a fondness for Andrew Tate but because every game makes male characters look 60% more bro-y, and you always play this, I can’t help but agree with the commenter that said it…
