You’re not losing weight because you’re eating the amount of calories that your body uses in a day. If you ate less, you’d lose weight. Hope this helps.

And I’m telling you, any of the games with VRAM bloat problems had significantly bigger problems that made their AMD brethren also run like shit! Nvidias mid-range offerings have been dogshit for a couple gens, but that really has nothing to do with these games shitting the bed.
My GPU has 24GB of GDDR6X. All the games that have had issues recently, still have issues. Some games have been VRAM hogs, but VRAM hasn’t been anywhere close to the, or even a core issue with any of these releases, so grinding your Nvidia ax here just makes you look dumb as hell.
What on earth is your point
This has, quite literally, nothing to do with Nvidia. You need to get over yourself.
It truly has not! This is nowhere close to the actual medical consensus, it’s just some folklore that’s gone wide enough to become “common sense”, but it just is not true. BMI is a wildly insufficient measure to assess the health of an individual, but at population level it is indisputably a reliable indicator for…
That’s... nice, but I already didn’t trust the performance of the existing overlay. This sure sounds like some pretty dramatic feature bloat that I can’t imagine is going to come for absolutely free.
Had this same realization, that it seems like pretty soon the only reliable games coverage we’ll have is coming from fucking Bloomberg of all places.
Honestly my biggest hope for a Defector of Video Games... is Defector. Could absolutely see them standing up a gaming vertical if they can figure out the logistics, at which point I will throw them infinity dollars.
I mean, I agree, either way what you said is wrong. “ Just eating healthier and less often is not enough to lose any major amount of weight.” is just factually untrue. Certainly if you’re seriously overweight and/or have otherwise severely compromised metabolism, you can see less speedy gains from diet changes alone…
It isn’t! There’s been a very effective campaign against it, but there is just a cold hard truth that more person relative to body frame = shorter life expectancy. When there’s more of you to feed, your organs have more issues supplying them on average over the long run. Of course there are plenty of other nuances to…
It wasn’t, but the article was silently updated.
I mean, I think it’s fair to say the article meanders quite a bit on what the “point” is, and like I said, the tropeyness of it is absolute a valid thing to critique. Although I’d point out that we’re also cherry-picking lines here to get worked up about. Brigitte isn’t running around going “man I love food, I hate…
Yes, that is what J-shaped means. Very low is bad, very high is worse. That’s not some “gotcha”, bigger = dying faster is still true. We’re talking about big people here. If you wanna talk about Widowmaker’s mortality risk would probably decrease if she gained a few pounds, go for it, but the frame of the discussion…

“BMI had J-shaped associations with overall mortality and most specific causes of death; for mental and behavioural, neurological, and external causes, lower BMI was associated with increased mortality risk.”
Being bigger makes you die…
I think it’s fair to identify a portrayal as overly tropey, especially when those tropes are grounded in attitudes towards people that can be harmful.
But also like... “seek to connect body size, mortality and food”? Those things... are very much connected. More food makes you bigger. Bigger people die faster. Those…
I mean, you still study A* in AI classes. People get so bent out of shape about what is and isn’t AI, and yet I think most peoples intuitive understanding of the concept holds up. AI is when a computer has to make decisions. If (x) then (y) is generally not going to be particularly impressive as an AI, but it’s still…
You don’t have to like the choice! My argument is that there are valid game design reasons for it, rather than all this cynical bullshit about they’re just trying to “pad playtime” or the even more cynical ones that it’s someway, somehow, about increased monetization. Sometimes designers just make decisions that they…
It was maybe too much for this dude alone, but it was less a direct response to him and more to him, all the other comments on this article, and similar on several related articles. Also “holy shit people, you sound insane” is some fairly tame hyperbole for you to pop off like this about, so I’m thinking it’s someone…
I mean... no? This is pretty stupid reasoning. WoW has had basically this system forever. The idea is the first time you go through an environment, the exploration and the unknown is a major part of the experience. Blitzing past enemies and locations and secrets because you are zipping along the critical path on a…
