This Yugo’s awesome, but I gotta make a correction. Yugoslavia was never a Soviet Bloc country (and hence the Yugo is not a Soviet Bloc car): it was the only communist state that was completely neutral during the cold war. Also, Yugoslavia was on neither side of the iron curtain, being completely open to both the West

I watched a show where a 747 owned by British Airways was undergoing a required 5-year inspection. That meant they pretty much stripped the plane all the way down to its frame and the engines were totally stripped too. Everything was meticulously scanned and scrutinized. The planes themselves would be used for 25

Yeah and they treated your grandma like people. She didnt have to take off and put back on, her dress, pearls, shoes, gloves and hat to get on said plane. I also bet your grandmother had more than .5 inches between her an her fellow passengers. I also bet she never got punched and dragged off of a flight when she had

If you pay the equivalent of the early jet age pries, you still receive that treatment.

Back in the early days of the jet-age, only wealthier people flew and they treated it like it was special. Smoking aside, I would beg to go back.

Patriotic Swedish Ferrari owner?

Always stay classy.

I love the execution of this. Put in a full cage, yet kept usable back seats. Kept the classy Rolls dash, yet put in a drag racing multi stick sequential shifter. Amazing work.

Torch, my ‘71 Super Beetle had a bad starter solenoid, but rather than replace it I’d crawl underneath with a long screwdriver and jumper the motor. I did in fact run myself over more than once by forgetting to shift to neutral, and once nearly electrocuted myself while doing this in the rain and parked in a puddle.

f this Pakistani woman can fly an F16 for the PAF (Pakistan Air Force), I’m sure women can drive a Formula 1 car, which is a lot less ‘physical’ than a fighter jet. What a load of crap !

fucking good. i’m sick of this “women can’t do it” speculation. now we can have someone prove it.

Has it ever been important to British automakers to fully seal their vehicles from the rain?

Surprisingly, no. The Rover V8 was chosen because it was short and wide (and light). Most of the space under the bonnet it actually taken up by the passenger’s feet. And the shape of the front wings means there isn’t room for a dead pedal, which makes bracing yourself while cornering rather tricky. I wear a volleyball

Here you go!

On that EV3, they missed the opportunity to hang the motor outside in front of the body and put the batteries on running boards or luggage rack. Or something like that. I’d love to see exposed wiring harnesses all over that body work in a 21st century homage to sidepipes.

They’re already selling it. $5k deposit, delivery in about 18 months at this point. The first couple hundred are already sold.

I look forward to the phase where they work up a contract to source all the crazy engine designs from early 2000's Volkswagen. I want my 10 cylinder diesel wooden frame automobile in brown please.

I applaud any one who puts miles on those cars instead of keeping them locked away in a garage.
