You wouldn't lump the PSP sales in with the Vita for the simple fact that you can't pop a PSP game in your Vita and play it. You can, however, purchase a DS game and play it on your 3DS, no problem. So to combine the two would be reasonable.

Exactly! A lot of "gimmicks" happen to be awesome. Frankly, the novelty of having a second screen will wear off, but it still allows for much enhancement of gameplay. Quick inventory access, tactical info without a cluttered screen, even more controls for the more obscure actions. It brings more flexibility in design

Agreed. Getting the 3DS ones actually taught me some pretty basic things that have helped a lot.

...or they got rid of it because this type of thing is going to be built in to the next gen of consoles. hopefully not, but i wouldn't be surprised.
