And then I think about what IF they actually pulled it off - so you end up with games that absolutely require the latest/greatest/most-expensive Nvidia AI card, or not only do they look worse but none of the NPCs can talk to you correctly (plus whatever else the AI is driving)? The actual gameplay experience (not just

An extraction shooter is a waste of Marathon. What’s next? They’re gonna turn Myth into a cinematic ghost train?

Convince Sony, Microsoft, EA, etc. that multiplayer games as service aren’t the best and most efficient way to earn yachts.

He got a better deal then he would have on the show Pawn Stars!

FROMSOFT’s pace is astounding. I realize they have multiple teams, but Elden Ring is less than a year old, the DLC is coming soonish, and their newest game is coming this summer. Just wow. Crunch in Japan is probably awful but wow.

Having played plenty of Armored Core I can say the video looked pretty representative what gameplay is like, just with fancy camera angles instead of being fixed behind the player and the HUD off.

You will absolutely not buy and play this. You’re posting entirely for clout and it’s terminally lame.

I’m not sure you know what sustainability means.

I mean since you brought up the equation why don’t ya also factor in the emissions for driving for Doordash/Lyft/Uber? Charitably, there is one of those you could bike for, but then also factor in all the single-use plastic in play with takeout. Also consider that someone’s time does not directly equal a dollar

I think people were expecting Shrek or the recent Puss in Boots. A movie that kids could enjoy and adults could as well. Not a movie explicitly for kids and not really anyone else.

God forbid Kotaku do pieces in a format they’ve been doing for 10+ years.

It means I max at 60% attention on the game and 40% on a podcast or whatever is on youtube on my 2nd monitor, it’s a perfect description really. Fallout 76 is like that too; if I’m building a new camp setup I can drop that down to about 20% attention...it’s like knitting once you get good at it, you can do it without

Cosy farming games are a perfect example too. I have listened to a lot of podcasts while playing stardew/dreamlight and similar.

Those are “fake,” apparently. Been seeing that one floating around. Because them being “faked” is apparently a more convincing scenario than them being evidence of a pattern of behavior.

The presumption in this country is innocence.

Man, I wish that wasn’t true. I truly do

I don’t even know where to start with this. Dodge rolling has always been a dumb, overused mechanic that is mostly the fault of Souls games at this point, and even there, it was limited by equipment weight and stamina.

I’d say the most controversial change is stuffing the game with microtransactions and live service bullshit in an effort to create a perpetual money machine for sex criminal executives.

Man, this just cements my theory that the younger generations of video game meme culture are like... two steps away from basically recreating early-2000s Newgrounds while believing they’ve made something new.
