The quick answer is that the government does not fund abortions. Period. It’s against the law for federal funds to be used to pay for abortion. So the defunding would directly impact women’s access to health care. Abortions will continue apace.

I’m 49, and had a mammogram this morning, covered by my health insurance. This is insurance I’ve only had since the ACA kicked in, because I’m self-employed and my husband is a Type-1 diabetic. Meaning, premiums were in the $2000 range. Monthly. I still pay 100%, but it’s definitely not that much!

Which is why I find ways to live with my husband’s incredible amount of clutter. Sigh.
