The problem is that you can't trust Sony not to screw you in the future, and based on past behaviour, you can pretty much count on it.

Most people don't know that these features have been on other platforms for ages and Apple generally trumpets them as a great new Apple invention. Apple gets a lot of free advertising in the media so many of us like to let people know that Apple is quite a ways behind the times and limits users in many ways.

An alternate title would be "How to get iOS7 features 3 years ago".

It' also not long press, just tap the icon on the left (although long press may work as well)

You should be able to set that up by using Tasker or something similar to move only pics to the sync directory, or send them to DropBox. Android only of course.

I do the same (finished Breaking Bad), but I add an FM transmitter to the NetFlix streamer and listen on an MP3/FM player with sound isolating headphones. Treadmills can be quite loud.

I have a few Buffalo routers and have had great support from them the one time I needed it.

When the signal strength indicator is blue it means that all accounts are synchronized, and when it's greay, they're not. They're generally not sync'd when your phone is having trouble contacting Google, FaceBook, etc.

I love products from companies that treat Android like a second class citizen! After I try this out though, I'm going to go back to waiting for Vine! Seriously, if you want me to use your product, release it for all major platforms at the same time. Also, don't release a version for Android crippled by Apple's

Ultimate Servers (the pro version at least)for Linus now includes both PHP and MySQ. What you propose is now easily possible.

Well, they are a business, and as businesses go, they're pretty well behaved. They make sure you can get your data out when you go, and they provide some pretty nice services in exchange for data about your habits, etc. Most other companies try to lock you into their products ... Google seems to be one of the very few

Profiles are built in ... under settings, aren't they?

Very nice. It came built-in on my System76 machine, but it would be nice to add it to an old ThinkPad.

Unless it can keep which items are read across multiple machines it's just another RSS reader, not a Google Reader replacement. It also will not work on Linux.

I completely agree about the JVC noise isolating 'phones. I actually picked up a bunch of the last model as they were going out of stock in case they didn't introduce a replacement.

If you keep tying yourself to Apple's proprietary interfaces and protocols you'll never get out. Get out as early as you can. Look up "Sunk Cost Fallacy".

The "inconsistency" of the back button is not really a bad thing. I find its behaviour quite predictable, and in general it does exactly what one would want. As an example, if you're in an application and select a mail notification, you'll go directly to the message. Press back and you'll go to the list of messages.

177 on a 3 week old Nexus 4 ... but one of them is also a complete OS.

Likewise with the Linux version.
