I never really thought about that. I guess it felt a little forced at the end but imagining zombies regaining some semblance of themselves.. thats pretty horrifying.

Mike Rowe's Zombie Jobs.
That or BMX armour, plastic and rubber that is reasonably light-weight and flexible, even if its just gloves and forarm and shin protection, it protects all the bits that you use to protect yourself with.
I have a heavy canvas jacket that would probably protect from some minor knife attacks, let along rotten-headed zombie bites, not to mention if you had some protective gloves, like construction gloves with plastic or rubber backing you could probably just punch their teeth out and not worry about it.
I guess it'd be less interesting as a story, maybe? With less threat? But it seems like after this long they would be more inclined to wear armour, to lather up, to protect themselves as much as possible instead of 'oh well, we're used to it, we can handle it'
Precisely. There is even an old couple in Alexandria, if one of them has a heart attack in the night. Zombie. Then they bite their partner while they sleep. Two Zombies.
I think it had a lot of good points but it was overall a little lackluster. It also had that weird zombie evolution thing to it.
Hot is better than dead...
Sometimes i think its good to diverge. Look at Game of Thrones, its more or less following the books but its doing it in a different way and has different things to do. Sometimes you have to change for the medium.
Mutant circus was so fecking weird..
uuuuuuugh.. I want this to be good but its really not going to be.
Exactly.. you could probably get some cardboard and duct tape and work something up that'd leave you better off. Hell, if you're worried about bulk or heat or whatever just do ONE arm, you know, your 'block bitey zombie' arm that people always seem to get chomped on.
I did a little research and it looks like the current comic issue is 138. Which means we are (surprisingly) half way through. I never knew how many issues there were but it feels like so much has happened that it'd be further than that. I suppose its good to know it still has a lot of room left.
The reason i said 'At range', it also depends on what caliber. I wouldn't think it would stop the bullet dead, but its better than cotton? Also a glancing blow might deal less damage?
Thats right, good point. I remember him clunking around in it now. I do remember when he got it i was like 'fuckin finally, someone with a brain'.
It feels like what Rick wants. Guards and proper protection, training people to protect themselves and not just sit pretty behind their walls and hope nothing bad ever happens.
Having read the book, i too was disappointed - though the movie had my laughing out loud in points so its a fine movie, whatever - but totally didn't do the book justice at all.
Ooo.. time to look into it i think. I was never THAT interested in the comics but the more i think about it the more i want to see them
I wondered that two, 'face' characters that get lines and stuff are limited for obvious reasons, but besides that old couple you see, you don't even really see any other, background characters that MUST be around, unless there really are only twenty people in the whole place.
I was so glad to see someone wearing a little armour. I'm not sure if any have in the past but i never noticed it - Prison aside because Glenn had a helmet and shit, i think there was even a riot shield (awesome) but it lasted all of like two episodes. I know its all about scavenging and finding what you can use but…
