It has high energy costs, people say that it will cause increase in greenhouse gasses but it just depends on where you get the energy from. Solar, wave, tidal, etc are all possible.

Bottled water is the biggest scam in history, i laugh when i see people buying water. I do agree with you that the water isn't great - i have family who live up in the hills and also out near two rocks and they both use rain water tanks and hate drinking 'city water'.
Western Australia loves our desalination plants. Thats why we still have water even through the droughts.
She has ALWAYS seemed very American-y to me. The eagle. The colours, the stars,i guess. But i always got the sense there was a very American vibe to her, but its no real surprise considering where the character was made (not, you know, in world, in real life).
Well, at least she has pants..
Sometimes i forget how rich these guys are, and how famous they are. Every now and then then mention some super expensive car they have or you see their giant house and then you go "oh yeah, they are incredibly rich, famous people who probably have an ego to match"
As an Australian: HA HAAAA.
One of the few things in this vein that i'm aware of is the weird thing that happens when you submerge humans in water. If i recall correctly, heart rate slows and there are a lot of physiological reactions that happen which are completely automatic.
Incoming, The Aeronaut's Windlass. I'm looking forward to seeing it, i'm withholding judgement yet but i have high hopes.
They don't even count for me. He can talk about all the inside info he got from his dad and all the notes left behind all he likes. They don't read like DUNE and they don't feel like DUNE.
I've read all of these (except the last one) and they are possibly some of my favorite, pulp-action sort of books. I wouldn't evne know how to categorize these books but i'm very glad they exist.
Is this anything akin to The Naked Ape by Desmond Morris? That was a pretty interesting read.
Oh god i love that book. There are some amazing short stories there and all of them are very thought provoking. Like that girl that didn't get one at all?
I actually love talking about DUNE (and subsequent books) with people. Its not always easy because you have to have read all the books and i try not to convert people, DUNE is a very love it or hate it thing. But i find a lot of really interesting subjects in those books.
Pebble time looks cool even if it has a terrible name.
There are very, very few male stars that aren't considered to at least be somewhat attractive. And usually those actors ONLY get to play 'the fat guy' or 'the dork' or 'the nerd'. Thats why i said 'pretty much'. But those that aren't, and they are rare, are always stuck in real niches.
I did the same thing. I tend to only spend hard, solid cash because handing over physical currency feels so much more real, its a tactile, visual thing. I'm holding it, and then its gone.
To be fair 'pretty' is a non-issue because pretty much everyone on TV and in movies is pretty (/handsome)
We're already wildly over-populated.. maybe its a good thing.
Its surprisingly dark all things considered, its still one of my favorite movies ever.
