The biggest problem, that i've seen, with the early access thing is that there were a lot of promises that just didn't exist in the game. Dinosaur mechanics (herds and so on) some items, being able to attach foliage to yourself and lots more. People saw those demos and videos, bought the game, found out that it didn't

I've never run into that in Dota. But then the worst i see tends to be people who think they know everything and your a fucking moron. And its often less insulting and more tone.. very condescending or arrogant or nasty that way... or russians.

My friends and i can roshan before the creeps even spawn, you need a VERY specific team though.

I can pretty much tell you why too (at least, it seems obvious to me). In MOBAs (i play primarily Dota 2, but i've played LoL and HoN) is that they are competitive/cooperative.

People were pretty sure SC2 would never happen. Though i highly doubt any more WC games will.

People said the same thing about Starcraft.

I can't imagine WoW as cannon anymore. It used to be okay but its so sprawling and retconning and all that. I just want WC4

Yeah, it was all just a bit much for me.

i don't consider WoW cannon because its such a sprawling mess. The warcraft games - which i would love more of - and Starcraft have always had amazing storytelling.

At least 60% of my enjoyment of blizzard games have been their cutscenes.

That really is the core of the issue. I don't remember if it was mentioned that this was winterkewls first game, or that it wasn't even their full-time job. But even if it wasn't, it was safe to assume that it really was not a sure bet that the game would appear.

Its probably partly so it doesn't look so bad. Because of women were to try out for those sports and ALWAYS fail to get in, people would complain that it wasn't fair, since everyone was allowed to play, but due to competition, some people couldn't.

I must have missed where they said when they would do it.

Exactly. Whether it was purposeful or not it was major mismanagement and MAYBE some shady dealings. Either they really didn't know what they were doing or they padded those costs a lot.

Of course its not going to stop them playing minecraft on their channel, its likely where the vast majority of their money comes from. No judgement there either, if i was making money doing something i'd keep doing it even if it wasn't my favorite thing in the world. Thats called a job.

Not to mention just 'random gaming group' it was a random gaming group that had never shown any ability to create something or manage something or produce something of this size and they wanted half a mil to try.

'Pst, hey buddy. I hear you're going to get a big half-mil payout for that game thing? I really want in on that. I've got myself lined up for lucasarts but it'll be in awhile, think i can't get in on that.. yeah like, 35k would be nice, thanks'

Thats exactly what i read it as and i mentioned it above but they basically say they took time off their jobs to make it (good, you should be working full time on a game you were already paid 500k for), but then they go onto say that they had to go back to their old jobs and RED FLAG, RED FLAG.

Its funny you say that because i have heard an unverified rumour from a few people that point heavily to the idea that they wanted to make this game because they had a falling out with Notch or something and it was a bid to cash in on the minecraft craze.

I used to like them more than i do. I sort of feel like they mad it big really quickly and didn't quite know how to handle it. They were cool when they mad funny youtube things, now they are this huge thing and i dunno how much i like it anymore.
