Indoor plumbing? The internet? Refined sugar? Central Heating? Don't get me wrong there are LOTS of things about fantasy worlds that make me wish i could live there (ever read Guardians of the Flame?) So as much as i love swords and horses and armour and castles and quests and how appealing they make fires and simple

Fair point but i'd also get REALLY tried of chasing down every animal i had to kill in those games too.

This is my pet peeve too, but lately i've had a bunch of YA fiction pushed on my (and most of its fine) and a LOT of those seems to be focused either entirely, or just a lot on female main characters (Hunger Games, Divergent, et al), and they LOVE describing the men's appearances.. So i almost forgot about it.

A friend of mine won't watch anything that even smells of time travel, it doesn't even have to be the main focus of the show, if it had time travel in it even a little, they just can't bring themselves to care.

I think your best bet is to just pretend there is no connection at all, there basically isn't one beyond the point that it used to have a different title and people know about it. It may have vague similarities, but i'd just pretend there is no connection at all and you're much better off.

My problem with first person narratives is .. well several fold.

I am kinda over the 'teenagers save the world' thing. But there has been a huge influx of YA novels, from the days of harry potter (sorta) through Hunger Games and into things like Divergent (which i just finished and.. boy ..=\)

It can be a little weird to read first-person female narratives. He might be making a dramatic point too, but I dislike first-person narratives to start with so thats not helping.

I have so many, there are little ones - first person and second person narrative being the main ones. First person can be okay, but it has a lot of hurdles, but one of the main ones is that is feels very cheap and narrow. The story follows only one person and their very specific perspective, totally blocking out the

I think my heart would stop if i started to drop one of those.

The problem is that WA is unreasonably large. Why did it have to be so big with so many good things spaced so far apart? I've lived here all my life and seen only a fraction of what there is just because if you want to see something like this, you have to make a dedicated trip to do it, and there is often very little

Oh, i know. Thats what i was saying. When i heard it i was thinking 'linkin' then people here are refering to him as president abs because its lincoln.

Are you waiting for the mountain men to be pre-war survivors with proper technology and basically be like vault dwellers too? Because i am, and i think i'll be annoyed. Both because it sort of ruins the savage vs. survivor motif they have, and also because if that were true, surely they would have pointed out how

It took me until reading this review to realise it was LINCOLN, and not LINKIN. Like.. i was stuck with 'weird post-apoc savage name' and not 'holdover from past civilization' name. Because it always sounded like linkin when they said it and the pronunciation threw me.

And here i thought i wouldn't like it.

I was told, long ago, that the seasons were because the world was a sort of dyson's sphere with all the land masses on the inside surface with a sun that had an erratic course in the middle of it so sometimes it would be a long way away from one part of the inside and sometimes it would drift closer.

I'm not sure if i'm sad or amused by how pudgy they are around the waist? like at the belt, they look very soft and squishy.. but Ms Freddy there has a ROCKIN six-pack at the same time.. So confused.

That ICQ 'uh'oh!' message is the same sound (or sounds like) the registers at the supermarket near me make when there is an error. Every time there is a problem my head whips around and sudden'y i'm transported back in time.

Oh no, i get that, thats what i sort of mean. Her reactions might be kinda realistic, but they aren't fun to watch, because it makes her hard to like, watching her bounce around without any sort of pattern.

I dislike Octavia for almost entirely this reason. She jumps from jasper to i think a boy that end sup dead, to her Savage Lover.. Jasper is the ONLY one in that group that deserves it either.
