Its actually one of the things i love about GoT so much, and that the TV show does so well (and could have failed at) and that is having proper villains. Lots of shows have bad guys that you hate because they are bad guys.

I'm 99% sure he was poisoned, but choked in the sense that is what the poison did. I haven't read the books but there are a few points i did notice from watching this episode.

LIPS, LIPS ON EVERYTHING, TURTLES HAVE LIPS, RATS HAVE LIPS, CHAIRS HAVE LIPS, EVERYTHING HAS LIPS!

I've said it before and i'll say it again. I'm disappointed because i'll miss his acting and i'll miss hating him but if he had to go out (and he did) the graphic, painful, terrifying choking death was a nice touch.
