The live shows tend to be really funny because they *have* to pace their riffs or else the audience can’t hear anything above laughs. It forces a discipline that the show doesn’t have to maintain.

I thought the Mac & Me episode was pretty solid, but I do agree with the critique that they could stand to slow down on the jokes overall. 

I really wonder if there’s still bad blood between Joel and the other original cast members. I might have missed it but I didn’t see any of them plugging the kickstarter on twitter or anything.

Joel and Mike did meet on camera back in the Sci-Fi era, so that’s been done.

I wanted to like the new seasons, but the jokes were just way too rapid fire to really appreciate them.

Hard disagree. Rifftrax is excellent, but I very much miss the host skits.  The biggest problem modern MST3K has, however, is a severe lack of Kevin Murphy and his golden singing voice.
