Thanks for posting this; I was mentally trying to resolve the discrepancy between 24 cylinders and 56 spark plugs. Not to mention that a 24-cylinder, 4 bank radial would have an even number of cylinders on each bank, which would be almost impossible to balance.
Agreed, that was my thought as well. My coworkers and I do that in the parking lot at our office building pretty much any time we have to work late or on weekends. Sometimes we block each other in, which is fine since it's all in good fun and we know what who drives which car.
My automatic Dart didn't have autolocks. But I think that was par for the course in 1974.
My Miata was rear ended by an unlicensed driver in a Suburban about a year ago, which completely destroyed the rear of the car, similar to the damage to this NSX. The insurance company had a researcher determine the market value of the car, which in this case was about $4000. Then the researcher got quotes from…
Yup, 240sx. Sadly, in my neck of the woods, these are no longer cheap due to their popularity as drift cars.
The Christopher Tin soundtrack bumped this from "interested" to "must buy" in my book. I am eagerly awaiting the Steam release.
I discovered much the same thing about a year ago. My flatmate's early '90s Honda burned nearly as much oil as gasoline, had peeling clearcoat, and was just begging for a big-ass wing and hood scoop. I'd have paid maybe $20 for the hilarity of seeing his face, and seeing the reaction from co-workers, but it…
I'm a fan of his "How hilarious, you've just set off my trap card!" line.
In my area it's usually an angry mom in an X5. But it's OK, after a minute or less they will move back over and give me my following distance back.
I keep pretty good records of my fuel economy and I've never noticed any increase whatsoever from changing fluids. To my mind the primary benefit of changing to fresh synthetic fluid is the increased smoothness of the gears. I put Redline in the transmission of my Dad's old Nissan econobox and the formerly finicky…
I found the same thing when I had my '95 Taurus SHO. The owner's manual said "Premium recommended but not required," so I did the same thing you did - since I keep good records of my fuel economy, I was able to accurately compare economy with both fuel grades, and found about a 15% increase in economy with the…
I prefer a manifold pressure gauge myself.
Pet peeve of mine: "grizzly" is a kind of bear. "Grisly" means "causing horror or disgust."
For PC voice chat, I bought a Zalman Zm-Mic1 microphone. It's designed to clip onto the cord of a normal pair of headphones and can be purchased for around $10. I've been using it with my Sennheisers, but I recently bought a pair of Monoprice 8323 'phones so I could leave the Senns on my digital organ, and for…
Well said. I'm just barely young enough to be considered Gen Y, and I completely agree with all the points you've made. I've never owned a car with less than 90,000 miles on it, and I've never owned a car I haven't paid cash for.
Craigslist-type classifieds that blur plates get my goat. If I'm interested in buying your car, I believe I have the right to know all the information about the car in question. Particularly useful in CA is the fact that you can look up a vehicles' smog test history on the DMV website by plate number. It's gotten…
I'm really looking forward to the Wii U's release, if only because then maybe the Wii will be cheap enough for me to justify a purchase. There's a small number of Wii exclusives (Skyward Sword, Last Story, etc) that I'd really like to play, but not enough for me to justify the purchase of a console.
From the diagram it looks like both wings are lifting surfaces, meaning that it is indeed a dual-wing aircraft. A horizontal stab like the one on the Mustang pictured actually generates *downward* force which is used to balance the weight of the engine(s) since the CG is located near the wing.
I do. I use a free Android add called (appropriately enough) Mileage, but before I had the smartphone I used a notepad I kept in the armrest.
