I wouldn’t use this for sound.  The 3.5 mm jack indicates that the sound card is of cheap quality.  (I’m certain that it probably can handle 5.1 sound but that has nothing to do with quality.)  Now if it supported XLR or even a 6 mm jack then it’d be good for sound.
