I didn't start those until I was around 11 or 12. I think that's when I started reading Orson Scott Card and Spider Robinson and Robert Jordan. I should really try revisiting the Wheel of Time series...

I remember reading a lot of Nancy Drew at 9 and 10 and moving on up to Sweet Valley High around 11, and the Sweet Valley University! I miss those books!
It was, right? Goosebumps were so straightforward! In retrospect, I recognize that was purposeful in its plotting but at the time, I thought R.L. Stine was treating me (specifically me, because I was also probably self-centred as all get out) as an idiot.
I read his books too! But that was probably more age appropriate at the time (12 or 13) then when I was reading Fear Street (9 or 10).
I loved that system! It wasn't called Bookit in Ontario but it sounds like it worked the exact same way.
Was I the only one who hated Goosebumps as a kid? I grew up on "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" and Goosebumps seemed... Juvenile? Plus, I really hated that you could read them for book report assignments since I thought that was a cop out.
It is! I really liked it. I currently have four nails all different colours and all very bright - a final decision is to be made tomorrow ;->
I won't comment on the Ashley Greene story beyond, that really, really sucks, because I refuse to go look at the pictures...
Leonardo... I dug the swords (obvs, the coolest weapon, sorry, Lindy!) and I have a type when it comes to fictional characters - the strong, stoic leaders.
... I definitely do not have that showing up. Thanks for all your help ;->
I posted a pic of it (sort of) in another comment, but I really like Essie's Meet Me At Sunset - it's an almost-neon deep orange. I wore it for the last two weeks and a lot of people loved it! Having said that, I just painted one of my nails Tart Deco so it's not like I wouldn't endorse that colour too!
I love Lincoln Park After Dark but two coats on my nails and it just looks straight up black.
I went to the FAQ and it said that but there's no 'add image' option for me? Or maybe I'm just missing something/looking in the wrong spot. It'll be my goal today to figure it out!
I have a mix of expensive and cheap polishes and I think one of the draws of more expensive polish is that it tends to not stain my nails quite as much despite richer saturation. Cheaper brands are also more likely to have formaldehyde and other bad-for-you ingredients (though I think most brands have phased out…
I did know that, thanks! Or, well, in Canada it's listed at 3.25% so I'm not sure if that .25 makes any sort of difference... But on the off-chance that it has a similarly thick texture to cream and the like, I stay away!
I can't remember the last time I drank whole milk but I think there's a clear difference between skim milk, 1% and 2%. Skim *looks* like white-tinged water and, to me, there's a noticeable difference in thickness or texture...
What stuck out to me was that one of the SAHMs was a social worker... It was during my graduate work in social work that I really defined and began forming my feminist and anti-oppressive practice. I understand that most everyone struggles with internalized racism and sexism and homophobia and classism (and many…
I was warned beforehand that no character was safe - everyone died. But my initial favourite evaded death over and over and I thought they were safe! And then bam! And I was like, that's it, I'm over this. I put it down in a huff and haven't looked back. So, basically, to the end of that chapter where someone was…
I bought the entire set as a Christmas gift for my four year old nephew - he loves it!
