I’m not sure if it’s the same one, but a car exactly like this green one has been at Quality Coachworks in Redwood City, CA a lot over the past year.

I bought my E28 M5 a year and a half ago at 26. I lusted after the E30 M3 from age 10 on, but as I grew up and finally became ready to put my money where my mouth was, the same factors Patrick lists made me realize the E28 M5 was for me. Dead sexy with 4 doors, extremely rare, insane engine, and a driving experience

Not sure why this picture never got up, my post was pretty worthless without it :-/

I have, and it's not far from Ashley's. I feel lucky every day I get to drive him.

Oh, that car? Yeah, did it about 6 months ago. Buy your dream car. It's worth it.

I'm with you. This is awesome and I love the BB-ification. The black trim is ok, but the rear deck is awesome.

740hp. That shit's crazy.

Lamborghini Eunuch? Uh...

I can personally attest to the veracity of #10, the E28. I put 2200 miles on mine in the first 36 hours of ownership, and loved every minute.

Hell yeah!

Actually, the M88/3 was in the Euro M5, all North American E28 M5s came with the S38B35. The E34 M5 then came with the S38B36, then the S38B38 in its last years. So, no engine swap, and while the idea of a B38 beast is enticing, this one has just 15k on a rebuild and I like it being as close to stock as possible.

How awesome, man. Kudos to you for following your heart to an unconventional but kickass car. And getting/keeping it running. Great story, and I'm damn inspired to keep attacking my dream with enthusiasm and love for the machine.

I'm coming up on 3 months of ownership of my E28 M5. It's still sinking in that I bought my dream car. It consumes a great deal more time/money/effort than my 1988 Toyota Pickup that I've been driving for the last 10 years, but that's kind of the point, isn't it?

Now playing

Kenny: "How much exactly does it cost to buy a Mexican [Bugatti]? Ten bucks and a burrito?"

I don't hate this car, and this is the first article that really explains why it's NOT an egregious mistake.

exactly right

Save some money and give the 88 Hilux some love so he can go another 220k miles.

I can finally create a dorifto Volvo 240. That thing is awesome.
