What? They had a cat with them?
CA is not a no-fault state.
I think even “crash” is too gentle. More like willful destruction of property, vandalism, and - since there was apparently a cat involved - animal cruelty.
the rented Tesla was listed on Turo, so I am pretty sure the information can be acquired that way. Turo supplies insurance themselves. This is a bit weird all around.
There is no fuck to sue out of the other parties.
No matter how smart you are, you have to be able to afford it first.
Plus, even if the renter is found, it’s reasonable to assume that the renter doesn’t have their own car insurance and may have not purchased any insurance from the rental company. I mean...they pulled a stupid stunt and ran. It doesn’t sound like we are dealing with an individual that’s a responsible member of…
Doesn’t matter. He didn’t hit someone, someone hit him. He gets to be made whole while the other driver gets put in Federal Pound-Me-In-The-Ass Prison and then the other driver’s insurance gets tag teamed by the Subaru owner’s insurance, the city’s insurance, and everyone else that got damaged.
If I were to guess, I would bet the Tesla was rented on Turo without the proper insurance for a rental car, and the claim will be denied.
A “stunt” usually refers to intentionally risky behavior. The fact that movie stunts are handled with extreme precautions doesn’t change that. If we just called it a crash, then that would downplay the intentionally risky part. Lots of people have had crashes that were not intentional.
Uh, I’m not sure about how California works, but this would be covered by the other driver’s insurance, not his. You contact your insurance company, tell them what happened and the other person’s insurance information, then your company cuts you a check and sues their company for the balance. At worst, you file…
For an older Subaru with a new motor I’m guessing he only had liability insurance and thus no claim to be had. I feel for him.

Someone pointed this out in the other article, but Choi’s video should be flagged/demonetized for containing dangerous/illegal acts. You don’t even have to click into it to flag it on mobile (I hope that avoids giving him any revenue or any sort of engagement).
Please start a Go-Fund-Me to retain a good lawyer and sue the fuck out of the dipshit Tesla driver (and get the kitty taken away from him) instead. Name as co-defendants every Musk-besotted moron who witnessed the wreck then failed to do anything about the driver absconding.
I am glad this person figured out a way to fund the purchase of a replacement vehicle but hopefully he is also pursuing legal and insurance claims against the driver and whoever else was involved with this crash.
I am pretty disappointed they didn’t give any credits/cars or at the very least roulette tickets for this outage. I only get about 1 hour a day to play and was locked out last night. Even woke up an hour early today because one of the children was crying, tried to get my missed time from last night in and still…
Intolerance of hate is not hate.
Every In-N-Out I see in SoCal is like that. I don’t get it. I can get a burger just as good at Habit without having to wait in line for 20 minutes.
