The VW Bugs he had in the 70's and early 80's were unremarkable. The Mustard Yellow Volvo 240 was a durable but terrible car.

Interesting fact about the White House. It was in such poor shape in the 1940's that starting in 1949 they completely gutted it destroying most of the historical interior and rebuilding it.
No room inside that building is really more than 70 or so years old.
