If you look at how it is installed though, the front axles point forward at a small angle to shit weight back a couple of inches.

It isn't always a bad thing to have a massive front weigh bias. It was a ton of fun in the dirt.

This cutaway doesn't do it justice, but my 96 Impreza, the fly wheel was forward of the center line of the front wheels and the engine continued forward from there.

Is it a bad concept or a bad execution? I wouldn't mind seeing cars that move away from aggression and anger as primary marketing techniques. Not everybody wants driving excitement (look how many people buy Camrys). Softer lines to the car, quieter exhaust note and better visibility for the driver.
