I was trying to skirt the line between serious and joking with my comment, but its clear I failed miserably. Yeah, your assessment of the series is pretty spot on. Players don’t really NEED to know about the past games until they hit CS3 & 4. CS4 in particular is gonna be such a shit show for those who have only

Yeah, despite what some of the marketing from NISA has been saying, Trails of Cold Steel 3 is definitely not a good jumping on point. In fact, as a Falcom nutcase, I’d say that even the first Trails of Cold Steel isn’t a good place to start either. If world building is your thing, then you NEED (yes, I’m being

JRPG heaven, here I come! Trails of Cold Steel III finally releases in the west. Good lord, that took f’n forever. Oh well, guess I should be happy it got localized at all considering its niche status.

But oddly (or maybe not?), Lady Gaga is a Bayonetta fan.

I don’t doubt your statement, but to me Blade Of The Immortal loses a whole lot of appeal the further it moves away from Samura’s art. That’s part of the reason why I was so disappointed in the 2008 anime adaptation. Despite being in a medium closer to manga, it didn’t even try to capture the same feeling/aesthetic of

Nope. Being an adult in Japan apparently sucks balls, so this type of story has no end of appeal. The sad part is the best examples of the genre aren’t getting adapted. I guess the trashiest shit (like the MILF isekai) just sell better because of fan service.

Yep. Ascendence of a Bookworm isn’t the typical isekai power fantasy.

Holy shit. Blade Of The Immortal is getting a proper adaptation. I am 100% on board. The 2008 version was alright, but it just did not do the source material justice.

Can Anri really be counted as “hot”? We never get to see what he/she looks like.

Ah, so it’s Dark Souls: Prepare to Lose Your Laifu, But Get A Hot Waifu edition?

Question to those who have played The Alliance Alive: is it worth picking up? I love Suikoden (though not as much as Jason), but never bought this game because handheld gaming just isn’t my thing.

I disagree. That may have been true when UE3 was the standard, but Epic has upped their Japanese support for UE4 and it shows. Just look at Dragonball FighterZ and Dragon Quest XI. Both made with UE4 and run/play without issues. If we’re talking specifically about Bandai Namco, then they’ve already cut their teeth on

I wonder if that that DS remake of DQV will ever make its way onto the Switch. Really wanted to play it, but never got around to it since I find handheld gaming extremely uncomfortable.

Goddammit Platinum. Why the flock are there ONLY preset controls? Is allowing full button remapping that hard to achieve? DMC5 does it...hell, even your previous game Nier:Automata did it. Why the hell is Astral Chain taking such a step back?

God, I hope so. Stranding it on the WiiU is such a waste, and moreover, feels like Platinum leaving money on the table.

Yeah, same. It’s my favorite Platinum game. I imagine the reason it isn’t being ported is because of the second screen minigames. Those would have to be completely reworked.

Still waiting on Wonderful 101. C’mon Platinum. That game deserves a second chance to find an audience.

But it’s still weird for a director to shift their signature style like that...It’s like if Steven Spielberg started to do horror films

Thanks to Tim Rogers, I cannot look at Astral Chain without also thinking of Zoolander. These cops are really, really, ridiculously good looking.
