So I have started working as a food runner essentially at a restaurant and I doubt I have ever worked harder. I am having a hard time holding plates and carrying them far distances. This is a posh place. Any tips anyone can offer me?

If you're around or under 30 then you can get a visa to work there for a year. I don't know much about it, but I've worked with a few Brits and it seems possible. I like Canada personally, it's a bit cold sometimes but it's home.

A couple years ago I saw a photography exhibit that portrayed people with disabilities naked, because they are rarely viewed as persons with sexual needs. My friend with cerebral palsy was overjoyed by this exhibit because she frequently deals with the fact that people rarely see her as a sexual being.

My grandma is only 72 and remembers it as well. Her niece died of diphtheria and while dying the girl wasn't allowed to be held by anyone. What a horrible way to go.
