When the Rams moved to St. Louis, the LA group was able to slide in a “first-tier stadium” clause. That meant Kroenke or whoever owned the team would be able to leave or get a new stadium. It was a horrible, horrible deal by St. Louis civic leaders.

Jason Heyward is only making less guaranteed money than the Cardinals offered him because his deal has two opt-out clauses. and the Cubs offered him a higher AAV, thus a bigger contract. The idea that Heyward took less money is factually incorrect.

You’re not supposed to feel anything unless you have emotional ties to the situation. Did this really need an explanation?

Umm, that’s not even a real school. Hayes went to Winston-Salem State.

You’re right. It must have absolutely just pained you and Ley to have to get involved in this piece. Here you guys are just trying to highlight the sanctity and goodness of professional sports, yet duty calls and you just HAVE to comment on the uncontroversial comments from the Cardinals and Jason Heyward. You guys

Everyone who covers the Cardinals has said that Heyward was extremely well-liked and respected in the clubhouse, so fuck you and your “he wasn’t really one of us.”

You realize they are saying it’s not the right situation post Heyward signing right? I mean, Heyward acknowledged that it wasn’t the right situation. So what’s wrong with what he said?

The manager and the team’s top starter were asked and answered the question, so each of them mentioned it the same amount of times as Heyward.

This was a rational response. Good job.

So what’s been their biggest move of the offseason?

Yes, they sure did make a great investment in plucking Noah Syndergaard out of...wait, he was traded to the Mets. Well, they sure did make a great investment with that sweet 9th round bonus to Jacob deGrom.

It’s not that, but thanks for playing.

We’re not building a stadium. They passed the financing to show the NFL that it made a good-faith effort to keep the Rams and show that Kroenke did nothing to reciprocate. It’s about playing Kroenke to a draw.

Its “tripping over itself” to sway the relocation votes in January to Bob Iger and the Carson project.

Nobody is being pushed out of any homes.

It has to be two teams. That is what the NFL wants, and it’s why Bob Iger joining the Carson Project was a game changer.

“Missouri does not have the population or wealth to support two NFL teams.”

I’m glad Deadspin is finally acknowledging this rather than previously trying to frame it as Kroenke simply using Los Angeles as leverage.

The Deen apologizing that goes on at Jezebel is only eclipsed in its stupidity by anything muttered by Ben Carson.

It was awesome stuff. I saw a Reaganite use his scene as an opportunity to praise Ronald Reagan for not using a teleprompter.
