Avatar is the only movie I’ve seen in 3D where I was like ‘yes.’ A part of that is because it’s grand and slow enough to take the effects in. If things are whipping past you, it’s hard to lock on to anything. See: Avengers.

That’s another thing: The 3D ... was good! I’m easily annoyed by 3D but the 3D work felt masterful and restrained. Sure, we got that one shot of the SD in ‘park’ with its nose coming out of the screen but I didn’t feel like the 3D interfered with my understanding of the scenes — especially the action.

I think it’s pretty clear he meant “a [Star Wars] novel.” Making it about reading novels in general wouldn’t just be insulting, it’d be nonsensical.

Great read. The Haunted Mansion remains one of my favorite theme park attractions. The building in the picture is not the Haunted Mansion (which is at Disneyland in California. The pictured building is the Haunted Castle at Disneyworld in Florida.
