Very true! And of course the PS1 came in handy for other things.

Some of my happiest N64 era memories were with a Goemon game!
I shoulda done that... Cheaper alternative to buying an NTSC PS1 and copy of the game. Was good though!
Judged.
Coins also earn you upgrades, which can also make you go faster albeit in a rather round about manner.
Are you a MUTO?
1. Super Mario Kart - I still love it, and it has the best Battle Mode
You what?
Lots of Steam goodies, namely Banished, Baldur's Gate II and Sins of a Solar Empire.
Haha, even if the game has no further secrets, I still like to speculate that there are more. Those unresolved edge cases in the game give untold depth! But yeah, it's probably just a chicken...
Aha, only saw the one comment, I'll blame Kinja. Just saw you said it had a lack of village building and thought *just in case*, as nobody wants to miss out on that aspect of Terranigma!
Terranigma had quite a lot of village, town and city building. The best part of that was that it all came down to a vote in Loire. If you voted conservative, nothing would change and the main towns would remain as small villages.
I'd like the game to be out in the UK, harrumph! /petulance.
"I got to a point where I could get to the centre of the galaxy and see what was there."
Aha! Makes sense. I wonder if that means you wouldn't care for the original DS version much? The 3DS iteration is a lot smoother and easier to play (which are massive plus points). I would heartily recommend EO4 if you are thinking of picking it up, fantastic game.
Those bloody facehuggers will probe anything!
Personally I didn't like Untold as much as the other entries (still finished the story, but didn't feel the need to go through the post-game content until I'd played through in classic mode). I felt that the addition of the story seemed unnecessary having played the game before, and then here came the update telling…
Maybe give Etrian Odyssey IV a go, it's probably the most accessible to newcomers: the constant improvements to the numbered games does mean it can be difficult to go back to earlier ones if you do like it though (1 and 2 in particular). It was my own personal favourite of the series.
Incidentally, I would LOVE to see a new Body Harvest. Definitely one of my favourite N64 games!
