I bought 3 copies of Animal Crossing when it came out and a new 3DS for my girlfriend. We now have 3 3DS systems in our family. We're all hopelessly addicted to Animal Crossing and have been since it came out.

This is the problem with gamers on the internet. They complain that there aren't new IPs or that franchises are a constant retread of the same gameplay. The minute someone changes up the formula they freak out. This is why devs shouldn't listen to internet feedback because you're never going to please everyone.

Go look at Metacritic or the review thread on NeoGAF to get a better sampling of the reviews out there. It seems to be most reviews are above average to great for the game. IGN hit it the worst, but from skimming the review this morning I gathered that the reviewer was expecting an IGA Castlevania.
