I never handled it well because racist/xenophobic bullying really makes you feel like you’re alone in the world. When you’re bullied for liking video games or something like that you can kind of fall back on having other people in the school who like games, but when you’re the only other person from a specific country…

They are not all white supremacists, but they are perfectly fine with voting for someone who is racist and was actively courting white supremacists for their votes which makes them slightly less bad.

You provide your ID or proof of residency when you register. Then when you get to the polls you just give them your name and sign a piece of paper and they hand you your ballot. The voter ID is an additional, intrusive step into the process, making it harder to vote when we should be making it easier.

I don’t think most Trump supporters are white supremacists. But it would be a lie to say Trump didn’t run a racially divisive campaign and some of the top people he picked to be in his cabinet have a history of promoting divisive immigration and voting laws. To ignore that is to ignore reality.
