I think District 9 is overrated. It's not bad, don't get me wrong, but aside from some very cool effects and action scenes, the story felt a bit cliche and predictable. It started off really cool, but when the documentary angle was ditched for Wikus's story I kind of lost interest. So, Best Picture? Not in my book.

@Fedaykin: I completely disagree, considering without Pinbacker it would not be a complete film. From the start, the mystery of the Icarus I haunts the film, and the themes of obsession, religion vs. science, fanatacism vs. the mission all tie into Pinbacker. Kandeda's obsession with the Icarus I, Searle's sun…

Also, what about The Prestige?

I know a lot of people would disagree, but I think Sunshine should be on the list. Serenity is without a doubt the greatest movie ever, but Sunshine is a close second.

I must admit, I miss the Eighth Doctor's library/Victorian Tardis interior. Well, at least there's the audio dramas. Yay Big Finish!
