That was my first though, a few years ago the show had a year lag before being shown in the USA, and I never waited to watch on BBCA. Airing the show sooner improves ratings on legally watched TV. I’m sure the illegally downloaded views has decreased significantly.

I don’t think they actually sell the new Ford GT yet. The other racing teams in the series voted to allow the Ford team to compete before they met all the requirements for having a street car that was actually sold. I commend them for being will to take the chance and let more competitors in for a better series.

And that’s fine for other racing series. In GTLM the cars are meant to match the road cars as much as possible (with some limits on the engine power). If you just let folks do whatever you want, everyone would do what Ford did, which was build a racecar for which they sold a minimal number of production cars.
