I would love to see an article dedicated to backing up TV shows on DVD to a home theater PC. I've been trying to find an optimal way of doing this, but nothing seems to be easy or efficient. #stayingeekout

@UnderLoK: I'd pay HBO prices ($10/month) in a second for Discovery if that means not paying the other $100/month for the 1299 other channels I don't watch. I only need Discovery, ESPN, and whoever else shows NFL games.

Hey Netflix, are you watching? Linux users aren't evil, help a nerd out here.

I'm not paying Hulu to broadcast something that was broadcast over the air for free. They're dedicated to limiting customers at every opportunity.

The Open Threads should show all comments by default not just the featured threads. The comments feel like a conversation between a small select group, not a good group discussion which it should be. (I really dislike the new "featured" idea)

I just read that CD-R and DVD-R and all other cheap home-burnt media varieties have an expected life of 2 to 5 years! What can I do to ensure my backups of pictures and movies will live?

@nycrite: Without an iPod to show off how will people know that you think you're better/cooler/more hip than them?

Trust is long gone for them. They've already shown that they're underhanded and dishonest, no reason to think that will change.

@jkrell: I have 2 computers running Ubuntu connected wirelessly to my router using WPA2. You can try their forums if you're having problems getting WPA2 to work. You may have to install an additional package like wpasupplicant, but I can't remember if I had to do anything special to get my computers up and running.

BMI is a good measure for the majority of people. If you're a body builder or professional athlete then it won't apply to you, but chances are those people already know the state of their physical health. For everyone else it's very accurate. The problem is that the average person in the US is overweight so most

@ALIAS360: This question always comes up, why don't the editors always describe the themes, backgrounds, icon sets on every picture. They're always great, it'd be nice to save some time and explain it up front. :)

I try not to do more than 5 or 6 different exercises each time I go to the gym. I try to do upper body push and pull exercises, then lower body push and pull exercises, then I do intervals (HIIT) on a treadmill. Men's Health and Turbulence Training have great workout plans for 2, 3, and 4-day per week exercisers. Just
