I thought the imagery was useless due to absolutely terrible CGI, and that overall, not a single thing in the movie worked

I think the main issue with Bly Manor is that it keeps telling, rather than showing. Whether it is the narrator, or a character monologue or even a - very - on-the-nose sequence like the one with the wedding dress, the writing insists in blatantly telling us what to understand.

I watched all 9 already and I will just say this.

I recently finished the book series. The author admitted he was completely burned out by the time he wrote the last one, and holy crap can you tell. I’m hoping this show can do a reverse Game of Thrones and actually fix the ending.

You really have this impression ? From the titles mentioned, it seems to be about genuinely good (and, as such, less straightforward derivative) horror movies. It’s mostly just my recent favorites. Hence, precisely, my impression that it just mean “quality horror movies”.

Yes, for sure! I also find Tic and Leti to be the least interesting of the characters (great acting though), so I kind of zone out when we have to switch back to them unless it’s their own episode.
