I'm guessing this is related to people's ability to imagine and think in 3D space, which I heard is also the reason why some people have a harder time doing parallel parking than others. :P

I agree with this. Even running at 1280x800 on my 1920x1200 screen, games looked better with better textures and details, than running them at full resolution but setting textures and everything else to minimum. Which could in the worst case make games look like this:

Oh, I didn't know the muting works that way. Since I'm too used to just holding the volume down button to turn off sound. I almost never used the screen rotation lock function so I don't really mind it being moved.
