The bigger problem is actually the fact that the system libraries provided by Microsoft used something called “link-time code generation”. While this made games perform faster, it ended up meaning that high-level emulation of the Xbox was difficult.

The Xbox version of PSO is almost identical to the GameCube version. It should be possible to hack it to run on one of those PSO private servers with some hacking to get around the Xbox Live login. That’d never happen on Xbox One, though.
