You beat me to it. No need to freak out until actual casting comes out. If the cast is not inclusive, THEN the alarm can be raised and the boycott planned.

So what would be wrong with recasting an appropriate number of characters as women? I guarantee they are going to do a lot of modification to the story in order to bring it into the modern era, so updating the gender roles should be very doable.

How about going out and getting John Scalzi to write a version of Red Shirts without all the copyright-avoidance tiptoeing? Make it a lighter Star Trek; maybe not quite a comedy but not quite as heavy as Trek likes to get? And make Harcourt Fenton Mudd a recurring character.
