Great Work, man.

I personally like it but I have seen a Gawker website calling its trailer one of the worst ever Ghibli trailers. Miyazaki Sr. did help with the screenplay so his stance has soften from the first Goro film. It did manage to pull in decent numbers at the box office in Japan but not so much in the US.

Well, Miyazaki is retired while Takahata's latest work was a financial flop. The works of Miyazaki's son haven't been well received and Suzuki has stepped down from production. In all, not a positive outlook. I guess it makes more sense to just use their existing IPs to generate more profits by merchandising and

Distractions is one of the reason why he uses archaic technology to write the books.

How come there still isn't a market for customized HDD covers (the glossy piece)? I would love to replace that with a matte one.

Yeah, they usually release two versions; subbed (字) and dubbed (吹) for most movies here. That said, a few movies manage to get releases here at the same time (e.g. Amazing Spiderman 2) or even earlier (e.g. 47 Ronin) than other markets.

With his thick accent, it probably won't make much difference if he pronounced it in English versus Japanese ;)

There are still a few launch bundles floating around on Amazon Japan even now. I guess they produced too many for the market. Still, even with a price difference of only¥2,000 over the standard post-launch SKU (no bundled game), people are still buying more of the latter! Sometimes the price is almost the same but

I wonder what goes wrong down the line, however. Around 50% of the marriages in the United States end up in divorces or annulments.

This is a good article:

As others have mentioned, those photo booths (Purikura プリクラ; a word derived from the Japanization of "Print Club" into Purinto Kurabu プリント倶楽部) can give you larger eyes and smoother skins (sometimes impossibly smooth).

Not all charities are honest, however. See: The American Red Cross refusing to disclose what it did with Hurricane Sandy's money ($300m); claiming it is a trade secret and even hiring a law-firm to fight any requests of disclosure.

There is this scene from a movie called Big Brother where actor Sunny Deol goes on a rampage and punch some guys in ways that defies physics. The scene is between minutes 33:44 and 35:00. The movie isn't any good but that action scene is just absurd.

Better use the time delivering packages, Sagawa. Otherwise, Yamato and Japan Post will continue kicking your ass. The herds of housewives you'll be employing won't save you :P

Because those Arabic numbers are also from India ;)

Wait you cannot enter the store without a membership card? No one said anything to me when I went inside the Costco store in Kawasaki, Japan and isle-shopped looking for interesting items.

Signs of the 3rd impact? :3

Dunno, the character models look stiff.
