I don't think they spent too much on the special effects because they are not that convincing.

There are lots of Japanese actors in 47 Ronin but Watanabe is not in it. Pity as he would have made a better Kira than Tadanobu Asano and provided a better balance to a movie dominated by Hiroyuki Sanada.

Well, he might not be totally wrong if we generalize a bit ;)

I remember the author said in an interview a couple of years ago that he will end it in 5 years and retire after that. He said he wants the manga to go over 20 years and for him to reach the age of Dr. Agasa. He is 50 now so around 2015-6, I suppose.

The special effects in the movie looked mostly cheap to me and not that believable.

Dear MS,

Yeah, I started doing that towards the end of the 10 years of me being a fan but then gave up watching altogether and decided catching up was too much of a hassle. As I said, the exclusion of Kamiya and the newer art style contributed to this. Maybe I will go back to watch the essentials when the show ends in 2 years

So they are shooting the movie with Panasonic camcorders, now? :P

Of course, not... think of the kids (you get a bounce to compensate)!

Detective Conan used to be one of my favorite anime shows but it dragged on for too long and the art style for the TV Series went to hell with the switch to digital. Also, replacing KAMIYA Akira as Mouri was unforgivable.

It's better than the first special but yeah they wasted too much potential. Most supporting characters from the Lupin universe had very minor roles and there was no real case. At least watching the Japanese actors dubbing their own voices in Japanese in 47 Ronin had some novelty factor to it.

I would agree that most Japanese dramas are corny (good ones exist but you gotta search for a bit) but movies are slightly less prone to this, IMO. Of course, these kinds of movies exist (especially in the live-action genre), but you can find good movies with greater ease and the backlog is long.

Well, MGSV: GZ now has a street date in Japan (March 20, 2014). The Xbox One, on the other hand, doesn't.

Yeah, got an email from Konami earlier today. Too bad the M size is already sold out. The price after tax is ¥18,730 which puts the track jacket at ¥15,750 if we deducted the price of the game (¥2,980).

That's right, peasant. My new Zonda is better than your old Honda. Deal with it ;)

Chillax dudes, Project CARS will soon come to the next gen consoles. PS4 fans can then make fun of the XB1 port. The XB1 fans can then have their revenge by making fun of the Wii U port. It's all good :D

The gauges of the Hyura kind of pop out so they get plenty of light in real life.

GT looks a bit... too realistic? Maybe it needs more oversaturated colors like Forza to be joyful, I guess.

Interestingly enough, Project CARS will probably come to PS4 before GT7 does. I guess we can make a good comparison by then. GT gotta fix its ancient sounds, though.

Seeing how its bigger brother is currently $530 on Amazon, I'd say this probably won't go over $700 if that.
