Why is that? 4K (4096 x 2160) on 23" is only 201 PPI. My monitor sits 50cm away from my eyes so I guess 4k will be close to the limit of the eyes at that distance.

I think they will stop at 4K (2160p) for a while. 8K (4320p) is resource-intensive at the moment. Heck, even supporting 4K at the moment for anything but light graphics would require a beast of equipment. Just thinking about 8640p is enough to make me shiver. When is this going to stop?

No. I want a 23-27" inch monitor with a 4K resolution and 60Hz refresh rate that doesn't cost a fortune. I don't suppose that's coming any time soon. I guess this will give the GPU makers time to iron out the 4K single monitor issues and produce more capable cards.
