Oh please, games can still manage to sell shit-tons. Stop whining. If you want a real industry saver, try getting rid of publishers and establishing a direct connection with your fanbase. That's where the money is at.

That's... sort of the point of implementing something like this. People are forced to buy a copy if they want the full experience, otherwise they can just play the gimped version, or pay what I imagine will be a smaller fee to unlock the full thing.
