There is a LOT of cognitive dissonance in her blog. Jan 28, 2011, for example, she talks about congratulating herself a lot less for being pretty after going on for PARAGRAPHS about how she's happy that a friend thinks she looks like she has makeup on when she doesn't and how her skin now has fewer red spots. Also,

There weren't any South Asian models, were there? People ALWAYS seem to forget Asian people as a whole, and when they don't, they remember East Asian people, but forget South Asian people. Just a day in the life, I guess.

That's REALLY funny. 'North' is only at the top of the map arbitrarily. The fact that North is almost always oriented as upward is basically just Northern Hemisphere chauvinism. South can be up just as easily, without sacrificing any accuracy whatsoever.

OMG. If North makes a perfume/clothing line/whatever called 'North', I actually think that would be amazing.

Thanks! It was really bugging me!

Do you really think he's in middle school? He seems 8 or 9, to me.

There's definitely an element of supply and demand, as related to race. I live in an area where the people are mostly petite and Asian, so the department store I work in has a very well-stocked petites department, while the plus department is basically non-existent. In Junior's, 70% of what we buy is sizes 0/1/3

Read the link for the Miley Cyrus article. Can I just say, Miley Cyrus's obsession with twerking is really, really confusing.

I know that pilots already have a 200-something weight limit. Unless I'm mixing that up with something else.

Toccara Jones's dress: I think I've seen a shorter version on Taylor Swift and the exact same thing on one other person. Can anyone help me out?

Well, they probably weren't the first people of India? Just my two cents: As an Indian-American, the term 'Indian' used to refer to Native Americans has always bothered me. It feels, to me, like one of those 'let's not bother telling the different kinds of brown people apart' things. That doesn't speak to Native

I'm confused as to why all the comments/the article are referring to a stuffed lamb. I'm pretty sure it's alive. It blinked!

Agreed. I'm not a big girl, but I'm far from skinny and there are a lot of brands where I'm completely swimming in their size 2.

It's not that I don't think that more stores should be plus-sized friendly—I really do. The thing is, the argument that there's as big a market for plus-sized clothing as non-plus sized clothing isn't true. The idea that average woman as a size 14 is a funny stat. Anything correlated with weight (like clothing size)

I remember going with my class to see it when I was 9. SO not a creepfest.

That chubby little belly is full of evil.

Dude, the fact that she's relegated to the pacifist role IS the sexism. If you don't get why, think of it this way: Why can't Link be the pacifist hero god who plays the 'most crucial role in the game' from the background? Because sexism, dude. Because sexism.

Except if I hadn't read this comment, I wouldn't have known the bit about Paula Deen wasn't unqualified recorded fact—not from the way it was said in this article. I'm with sealformerlyknownashappy. Just because this is a gossip column doesn't mean there's should me no responsibility on Jez (at least if the site wants

Well, even those of us who've never actually seen MacGyver have heard of it from The Simpsons, so you're safe for about another decade.

I resent that you think there's anything wrong with someone's ass looking huge.
