Thank you. Almost nobody brings up the lack of representation of Bears at the Academy awards. Did you know that, as it stands, there have been over 1700 acting nominations in the history of the awards and only 23 have gone to Bears(Meryl Streep, Claude Rains).

The funny thing is, I can't even remember how I ended the conversation. It confused me to the point where my memory stopped working or something. I think we ended up with "Green, it tastes green."

Ugh, I hate the people who are just impossible to explain anything to. I had a conversation about pesto this week that went like this:

I really, really hope Linda Colt charged that dumb customer for an Irish coffee and not just a regular one.

I can see how you could make this assumption. But, he isn't trying to be black, he simply identified with rappers and basketball players as a child and that's who his aspired to be like when he was young. If you're saying an Asian person isn't allowed to appreciate rap music and basketball players... then I have no

"I would also point out that Asians were discriminated against and segregated, especially on the west coast, just as much as African Americans were in the South."

I WASN'T RACIST SO NO ONE ELSE IS EITHER

And Modern Family started out with a lot of promise, and now it's just a lot of tired, sexist, racist, homophobic stereotypes. Super disappointing.

That was nice and all, but none of them have yet matched the sheer perfection of Emma Stone's lip sync battling. They should do a tournament of champions with Stephen Merchant, Emma Stone, etc. and go nuts.

Where ever you land on the "you get what you deserve/paid for" spectrum what sucks is these are, again, the people that can probably least afford to have this happen. I was lucky to have parents who paid for my wedding and a beautiful dress.

I read Fifty Shades last summer (it took all of a DAY because it was awful.) And in the book it seems she prefers Ana but he insists on calling her Anastasia, which IRRITATED THE FUCK out of me. You call me the name I tell you to call me, asshole. Not the name you prefer to call me. It's my fucking name.

Good thing his wang is what this movie's all about.

Maybe women who thought it was a sin weren't in the majority, I can't find any statistics on that, but those who abstained definitely were and always have been in the majority (at least since we apparently started keeping track), especially women. http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0762370.h….

Everyone did not used to drink and smoke, you know that, right? Maybe they didn't warn against it for pregnancy, but there were LARGE swaths of the population who viewed those things as sinful and decadent and abstained.

Many Asian airlines don't have to adhere to age discrimination laws, so they can bring in new, young talent on a regular basis. A rotating staff also allows them to keep payroll costs low while unionized flight attendants earn tenure and can't be fired when they no longer rock the skirt.

Best.

I honestly don't remember what happened in this book besides 1) visiting every faction and 2) the big reveal. Maybe that's a good thing? I loved the first book so much so maybe my expectations for the sequel were too high.

This doesn't seem terribly familiar which makes me hopeful they are shit-canning most of the actual plot resolution revealed in the last book. Which was The Worst.

Has anyone seen the trailer where she's on that giant cube, and like, her mom is there? I read the books but I don't remember that at all.
