@prismatism is Team Bella: He's alone, children don't like abandonment... He has no parents, and that makes you do the whole death-realization thing. He's alone, the planet has nothing on it except for that stupid flower, so there's nothing to do, which creates lonliness... It's awful and sad!! hated it!! :(
I liked it, I'm going to give it a few more episodes to flesh out more characters. Since this was a pilot, it was very pilot-y, in that you had to establish the main characters, get out who they were supernaturally, and get some plot lines going. We'll see over the next few weeks if it ends up being any good... Least…
