My mother has worked in the film industry a long time. And, I sent her a link to the Kristen Stewart piece from Jez last night. And, this was her response:

I just found out about it last week and I've already binged a ton of episodes. I was saving the Jenny Slate episode for my drive to Atlanta on Friday but I may have to give it a go now.

I listened to this podcast a while ago too! But I got more of a brother-sister vibe .... yikes, I was really off! I thought she mentioned her husband in it? Well, they were both awesome on the podcast and I thought Chris Evans came off pretty insightful and Jenny was very sweet. It made me bigger fans of both. Chris

The East river is not a river. It’s a tidal strait of the Atlantic Ocean that runs between New York harbor and Long Island sound. Salt water all the way. But it’s apparently good fishing for bluefish and stripers, as the anglers are out at all hours around my place.

I had to fly home on Christmas Even for a funeral last year. When I got off the plane I said something along the lines of “you had no way of knowing this, but I’m going back for a funeral” and broke down in tears. Somehow I managed to thank the flight attendants and crew for my non eventful flight, the connections all

Most blind gossip I've read seems to insinuate that Gyllenhaal is gay

For my money, Jimmy Fallon is mediocre and cutesy.

Same. I finally told my parents to fuck off 4 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did for my mental health. I don’t know that I would have had the strength to do that as a child, but it would have been cool to know it was an option.

I feel like your husband, because it took me getting married to realize how unpleasant my own mother was. My in-laws think everything I do is a total delight, even if it’s not something they enjoy. And I was amazed that everything I did wasn’t criticized.

That’s absolutely true. Even pseudo-psychological help shows like Dr. Phil keep trying to reconcile families. What for? If the state can take kids out of their families for their own good, why would turning 18 make a reunion a good idea.

We need more representation of people who are comfortable being estranged from their families. TV characters are always like, my parent was an abusive drunk but the worst thing they ever did was abandon me, I’m tortured because I secretly deeply want to reconnect! Obviously there are some people who feel that way, but

I found this entire Beyovie to be incredibly self-indulgent with weak music and even weaker themes. If her goal was to make me loathe Jay-Z, she succeeded and should just divorce him already without pulling another Kanye art dump.

the difference is i’m not wrong

game of thrones’ violence is awesome

I truly feel for parents desperate to find something to blame for their child’s disorder, but once you cross the line into spreading dangerous untruths because you want the conspiracy to be true so badly, you must be told to sit down and shut up. Looks like Mr. De Niro has crossed that line.

I fucking hate the term “natural childbirth.” What you want is an unmedicated vaginal birth. There’s nothing “natural” about giving birth in a hospital under the supervision of doctors and nurses or in a manmade bathtub. Truly natural childbirth is fucking dangerous and traumatic, and medical technology has made it

Except she is not anti-breastfeeding. She is critical of the bullying that the movement does and how they attack women who cannot breast feed.

They haven’t ‘gone that route’, though. Chiropractic is literally based and created on pseudoscience. It’s actually the ones that *don’t * embrace woo that are the outliers who are going against what their proffession advocates. It’s very disturbing.

Most MDs, myself included, would agree behind closed doors that chronic lyme, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome, as they are commonly diagnosed, are all different manifestations of depression. But people don’t want to hear that they’re depressed, and people get angry when you point out this truth. As the
